Chloe has a nose for a deal before it's confirmed, which makes her Gossip Desk column for the Australian edition equal parts transfer analysis and character study — she's more interested in what a move says about a club's ambition than the fee attached to it. She keeps a healthy scepticism about speculation that's all smoke, and reserves her actual enthusiasm for the moves that hold up under scrutiny.
