Trump Wins His Own Club Championship, Again

Donald Trump announced a third straight club championship win at his own Bedminster course, a claim with no independent scorecard, arriving alongside years of documented skepticism about his golf game.

Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that he had won both the Senior and Super Senior club championships at his own Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey, posting a score of 70 and saying he'd had "very little time to practice" given his presidential duties. It's the third year running he's claimed a club championship at Bedminster, having also won the Senior Men's title there in each of the two prior years.

As with previous years, the win comes with no independent scorecard, no outside field of competitors named in the reporting, and no tournament broadcast, it's a claim made by the club's own owner, at his own club, reported through his own social media account.

A Familiar Pattern of Skepticism

Trump's golf claims have drawn public skepticism for years. Actor Samuel L. Jackson accused him in 2016 of lying about a round they played together. Sportswriter Rick Reilly's 2019 book Commander in Cheat alleged a pattern of rule-bending on the course, drawing on interviews with people who said they'd played with him. More recently, a video from a round in Scotland went viral after appearing to show Trump's ball being moved, reigniting the same questions. Trump has consistently denied cheating in every instance.

None of this proves or disproves the Bedminster result specifically, there's no independent record either way, but it's the context every claim like this now arrives in.
